Great video series from Andersen forge

1.) What negativity?
2.) You misspelled Anders'E'n.

My spelling and typing are trash & I get as close as I can, then let google show me the way.

I suspect that there are millions like me.

You've had your whole life to learn it, but it sounds the same to everyone else.
Maybe after this, I will have the spelling of your name learned, maybe not.

My point is that there is an "AndersOn forge" and it makes it easier if you have your name and logo with the knife photo at the beginning of each video, with your website link in the comments section of each post so it's easy for people to find you.

The first videos had that, but I don't think the later ones did.

Maybe my definition of "knife maker" and many others is not the same!
I can easily see it taking me many more years to be making the type of knives I have in mind that will allow me to look in the mirror and say, "You finally made it".

Now that is something many of us can agree on. I can certainly see it taking a very long time to become the knifemaker we want to be.

BTW your explanation using "Toast" as an example was great and was a perfect visual.

I agree that was a great analogy.

We're all waiting for part 8

Hi Karl- Thank you for putting these videos together and thanks to the OP for bringing them to my attention. My goal is to make a knife this year so anytime I come across good information I soak it up.

I loved the videos Karl, especially showing the heat shadow moving around. That was also nice camera work from your friend.

I hope you haven't shut these down Karl. I'm really enjoying your videos and I wish you weren't in the position of defending yourself. I think it's clear that these are personal thoughts and not necessarily "politically correct" but honest and to the point.

I think you've shown great courage to put yourself out there like that and really appreciate "getting to know you" a little.

Your earlier profession as a piano refinisher is a fascinating beginning and speaks much of what I'm sure is your great attention to the details. (I haven't had the chance to see your work up close) Also it would be a dream job for me...

Keep up the good work Karl! Really enjoyed them so far. Patiently waiting on 8.

Yea Karl the videos are really good and make for good discussion.

Gol durnit! I was watchin it last night and was hoping to watch some more today.:(

Eh, it's your video.

I am enjoying your videos very much. I saw nothing anyone could take offense to as these are your opinions. And I believe that with every knife one makes he learns something new no matter how long he has been doing it.
Keep up the good work as well has the vids. Ron

It looks like # 6 has been edited and reuploaded here.

I have only seen the first vid so far but something he said hit real close to half of my "knife making education". Were he talks about spending $600 for a class and thinking in the first 15 min that he got his money worth.

These forums are were I have gotten at least half of the info I have been putting into my blades. The other half has come from the local blade shop that started me out with some scrap 5160, Zombie Tools. I know their taste for blades isn't every ones ideal, but they have been a priceless source of info for me. For no more than stopping by the shop with a 12 pk of PBR for a bull session I almost over load on all the "know how" I get just watching them work.

I do admit it is some times frustrating watching them do in a few minutes something that would takes me a few hours.

Those videos and comments ARE BEING TAKEN far too literally.
They are about ME, and what defines ME and ANDERSEN FORGE.
Not you, or Bob Lovelass or anyone else.
Just me.

Well said Karl -

And if every maker out there put a video out - they would ALL be different.:rolleyes:

All knife makers are not the same......:)

I think it's a good start - some guys will learn a little about knife making and what it takes?
A few will learn a little bit more about Karl and his knives.

And we will save a $hit load on gas for us all not to have to drive to his shop and see what's up?
SO it's like GREEN for the planet.......:p It's all good.......
