Just wondering if anyone can confirm that that they've had a company actually give them a new blade/knife under warranty because they broke/damaged the original.

I broke the tip off a Queen blade, I offered to pay for a repair since I did it, but they put a new blade on for free.

Victorinox- I had a spring on blade break and they send me a new knife

Buck- I had a bad heat treated blade and it snapped the very first time I used cutting a 1/2" stick. They sent me a new knife as well.

:)Queen!! I had a spring break and they sent me a new knife in a short amount of time.

I had an older model of a leatherman multi-tool break clean in two at the pliers. They sent me a new one with no questions asked.

A couple broken Bucks over the years, replaced no questions asked.

Two BenchMades over the years as well, no problems.

Never needed to try out my Busse warranty but I hear their tops also.

Had a broken clip on a old Spyderco Delica and they ground it off and added a metal one for me.

A guy over on the Busse forum hammered a Busse Skeleton Key (small, slender knife) into a concrete slab and kicked it out of the concrete repeatedly, finally breaking off the tip. Jerry Busse said send it in, we will replace it.

Personally, if I did something like this to a knife, I would just absorb the loss rather than admit I did it.

i have had liner lock issues with a CRKT kasper and they sent me a new one in exchange for the old.

Swamp Rat will supposedly replace your knife if you break it under any circumstances. They have a no nonsense warranty and a great product.

Himalayan Imports warranties their khukuris from breakage for a lifetime. Heck, they even have a model with a "bend it or break and receive TWO free" guarantee.

Buck replaced a knife that broke due to, well I dont actually remember how i broke it, it was almost 3 years ago. I put the knife in a ammo box and forgot about it. Finally pulled it out and sent it in, had a New knife back with no hassles at all in about 7 days. I have known many others who sent knives back to buck, they do stand behind their products. I wouldn't purchase a blade without checking up on warranty info beforehand.

Bark River also has a stellar customer service reputation. I've had them take care of some minor stuff free of charge.

Kershaw went above and beyond and sent me two pairs of different handles for my Offset and I didn't even break it, I just wanted a slightly different handle. And, after I did break it/screw it up trying to put it together with some odd parts they are rebuilding it as we type. Although it wasn't no questions asked, the girl in the Warranty Dept asked me what model number it was.:)

And not to talk smack but since we are discussing it, and it is pertinent to the thread, Strider may fix anything but you may have to take some grief over it before that happens. It still gets fixed though. YMMV

Had a SOG multi-tool and broke the tip off the pliers while bending a cotter pin. They replaced it no questions asked.
