Hello all- Can someone give me the history of the green coated blade on the Commander. When was it produced?, Are any still being made?, It's a great looking piece, although I must say that I've only seen pictures of it, I've never handled one. Curious!! Thanks to all, Donald.

I have never seen nor heard of a green blade Commander. So far from the lack of replies to this post it looks like no one else has either. The best bet is to call Emerson Knives.

There are Green-T bladed Commanders. The first I was made aware of them was here on Bladeforums. They were known and marked as "Mil-Spec" Commanders. I must've been asleep at the keyboard when these were released.

Green-T is very dark green, almost black. If you saw one you'd do a double take to figure out what's wrong.

I have attached the only picture I've seen of a Mil-Spec Commander. I apologize that I don't remember who to give credit too for the picture.

Hey, you guys are great, now I know alot more than I did before. I see I'm gonna have my work cut out for me in order to find one of these beauties. In case anybody wants to see more pics of the green blade I'll post a link to a Japanese store that has some cool pics, but the letters are all jumbled because of the Japanese letters. Thanks to everyone, Donald.

Try this: www.yama****a.org/emerson_green.htm

What do you know, this site has some kind of censor thing in it. The four letters that are bleeped out are part of the store name, not a curse in Japanese but a curse in English so I guess they can't be typed in, its only part of the store name. If anyone want to see the pics you'll have to type in the name yourself, I'll put a star inbetween each letter so I can type in the missing letters (the letters are in the correct order)- s*h*i*t*. The Green-T Commanders have been made for about 2 years. There have not been many made. None of us have any idea of an exact (or even ballpark for that matter
smile.gif
) # that have been produced.

For a long time, Ernie, Mary, Shaun, and myself, thought that the Green-T blades were ugly as hell. The only thing they looked good on were the green handled Ravens. After looking at them for a few years, we all like them a lot now. Due to demand (and our overall acceptance

) we have started producing small quantities again. They are only available from us directly so if you like, give us a call @ (310)542-3050.

Take care,
Derek
