I wanted to make a knife that would be the cats meow for skinning & butchering moose and deer. Too bad hunting season is over for this year:(

wow.. very nice Bruce..i love it... looks like a great kitchen and camp knife too..:)

Really great stuff, Bruce. I love the old Russell Green River designs, and this one looks like a great modern interpretation. I'll bet it's a heck of a slicer, too.

All the best,

- Mike

Yuppers, that's a fine looking knife, all right. Simple and elegant- it has everything it needs, and nothing it doesn't. Nice work!

Bruce, as a former butcher I know a good butcher knife when I see it, are you forging as it looks like it has scale or your reg. stock removal.
good job man, like the high grind and blade drop for a bit of hilt.
got a pic with sheath?

Thanks for the comments. It was fun making something a little different.

Brad this one is stock removal - flat grind up to where the fire scales is near the spine. I don't have a shot of the sheath, this one deserves leather but only got kydex:rolleyes:

This one is a Christmas gift that's getting shipped out tomorrow. I'm definatley making one for myself for next hunting season!

Very nice Bruce. I love those knives and I've been meaning to make that very thing for myself for butchering game. I really like it.
