Oh I came here too late, I must say godspeed first, then welcome to Japan at Narita followed by so long, and have a nice trip to Thailand then Nepal, at last welcome back to this forum!
If baud rate is the major problem in Nepal, how about switching off the "automatically load image" option of your browser? It will neglect pix and facemarks to speed up gathering posts only up from twice to ten times faster.
