Hi everybody

I´m an semi old dude from Sweden with an incureable interest in folding knives. I´ve been trying to not collect them since the mid 80s.....

Now i´m trying to buy a knife from Willey Knives in Delaware but they don´t reply on my email.

I can´t use their Webshop because it can only handle customers from the US.

Does anybody know if there are something wrong?

They do have a good reputation so i´m a bit surprised.

Willey's isn't really known for doing business online.

I would suggest BladeHQ or Knifeworks for anything online

Thanks for the reply neverdie36.

The problem is that the knife in question is rare and (as far as i know) Willey is the only one that has it for sale!!

I haven´t find it somewhere else but an weird site in South Africa.

Willey feels more legit and safe.

I see now that the thread has been moved. I am sorry if Moderator feels like it´s been posted wrong.

It is not about Dealers good or bad behavior. It´s more about an dealer not responding on Email. The reason for that can be policy or health or whatever.

I do not criticise Willeys Knives.

Email or Pm me and I might be able to help you.

This is the correct section, a catch all area of these types of threads. When it comes to vendors this is the right place, and when a maker has alternate sales channels the threads usually mention them and it all ends up here. Also, welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the info, my bad.

And thanks for the wellcome, too.

No worries from Willey Knives. I have been there several times, and always gotten great service and good deals. Mr. Willey, Geri and the rest of the staff are all knife nuts and very knowledgeable about their products. They are on Facebook too. Your best bet would be to call them, long distance international charges notwithstanding.

Neverdie, where are you located? Every July I stay in Ocean $hitty for a week with family, and try to make it to Willey Knives and Chincoteague. The crowds are too much, I like the slower pace of Greenwood and Chincoteague (never been there same time as the pony swim and never want to be).

I live in a town called Mardela Springs. It's in between Salisbury and Cambridge (work in Cambridge). I used to work in Seaford, DE which had me at Willey's way too often lol.

I like Chincoteague and assateague. I avoid OC as much as possible during the summer.

Stay outta there from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Columbus Day if possible. If family and friends weren't down there, I wouldn't be either in the summer. My uncle, father and I do the marina tour (look at boats and drink beer at each marinas bar), go on the beach a few times, hemhorrage money on the boardwalk, play pool at Harborside and generally try to get out of town early in the morning and come back late at night.

Well, this is somewhat frustrating.

Neverdie36 called Willeys Knives for me which is very nice of him, thanks again.

He said that Willeys gonna contact me "shortly".
This was the 29th and still nothing from Willeys....

I wonder if they have just to much of a workload or something?

Or:

Do they not want to do business with me? :(

One would think that an polite Email is not to much to ask for....

Calling them myself is not an option due to my bad hearing ( and lousy english).

I don´t know what to do now.

Hi Grunt

Welcome..... It has only been 3 business days IF you count the 29th...

Patience, patience...

Best

Paul

Scotteboy: Thanks for the welcome. More than hockey players come from Sweden: I mean.. ever heard about "Fallkniven"?

That guy was "just" an importer and dealer back in the 80s but he designed a knife (F1) and got a military contract with the swedish airforce, and the rest is history.

skyhorse:

Searching for an used knife is my plan B. I´m still waiting for contact with Willeys Knives.

I Mailed them, again, today.

pwerfel:

I have mailed the before without answer, the 21 and 26 last month.

That gave me the idea to post this thread to see if somebody knew if there was something wrong with Willeys.

Responding to an Email shouldn´t take weeks:dispirited::dispirited:

Grunt,

Ok then do not be patient ;-)

I was mentioning it because Neverdie only gave him a heads up on Wed....I may be wrong but you still have your money in your pocket and are not out anything except emails that were not returned. Check out some of the threads here and you will find many that would give up a precious organ if they only had to wait "weeks" for stuff that they actually paid for.

Good luck

P

Yes Pwerfel, You are right, i should be patient. :foot:

One gets used to lightning fast communication by Email and what not, and then, when a reply doesn´t arrive within a couple of days one freaks out.

Patients is good, feel the patients....... :hopelessness:

They are a great store and great people to deal with. I would give then a week at least though. Small operation. Closed Subdays . Me Willey has sharpening orders and is gone Wednesdays picking them up. All day long locals are dropping off hunting and kitchen knives, they still have the store to mind. Then family life takes over, which it did the last time I was there. My father owns his own business and I spent a lit of time there when I was a kid. Check them out on Facebook, sign up for the newsletter. Geri seems to respond quicker to those.

Give them some time .
