I am a relative newcomer to knife making, but and excellent craftsmen in other areas. I have been developing the desire to make knives since 1999 and due to life/circumstances and where life has taken me all over the world I am now settled and have time to pursue the craft. My one question is this a friend has the equipment I need from his fathers estate (he was machinist and knife maker) I don't want to insult him with a low price however the grinders, polishing wheels, drill press, antler/stag, micarta 12" x 12", other materials and 2 dozen knives in various stages of completion (nothing special materials wise) are worth what? I figure none of the equipment has maintenance records, can't be powered up etc... it's worth 25% of replacement cost? HELP I NEED TO GET STARTED!:D

Good to see your finally ready to get cracking on it!

I would have to say though.....more info IE models/condition etc would help these guys out in return helping you!

Best of luck, sounds like your going to get a nice score.
