I asked Greg to build me a variation of his beautiful combat axe for use, partly, as an ice ax. Greg Lightfoot makes some of the most beautiful blades I've seen, and I've always been particularly attracted to his fixed blades. [There's certainly nothing wrong with the folders, that's for sure, but there's something about the line and feel of the fixed blades that's very special] His were some of the first customs I ever bought. Anyway, for a maker as busy as Greg to take the time and trouble to adapt an axe for me is a very rare thing nowadays, and deeply appreciated. He knows what works. Amazing work. Great guy. He gets better and better, which is quite something, given how good he was to begin with
I'd love to check out his new framelock, when the budget allows. I think Les Robertson carries them.
