Paid Greg Wall $500 almost 2 years ago. Everyone said he takes almost a year to make a knife. I get excuses every couple months from him. Any ideas? Am i out the $500. My fault for trusting him i guess. If anything else this should be a warning to future Greg Wall customers.

Same here. I gave him 650 and it's been 1.5 years and nothing. Keeps telling me 3weeks. 3 weeks. 3 weeks. I never even inquired till 6 months after i paid him.
I am really disgusted over it all. I have to assume I will lose the money. Just ashame he can't fix whatever his issues are.... it fucks it up for other markers big time. I will never pay in full again
Well we will see. He did deliver 2 custom knives but dammm this is just ridiculous. If I was the maker I would just refund 80% and keep 20% I don't like to be held out and strung along... He needs to refund me 80% (which is more than generous on my part) or get me the knife. It's depressing because I trusted him that's what makes me so mad. 6 to 8 month. Cool but another 6 to 8 months 3 to 6 weeks it will Shipped...turns In to 1.5years.... .. prob at 2 years at this point. .. he does make a good knife I can say that ..

Remember reading articles in the old Ken Werner "Knives" annuals about "how to buy/order a custom knife". One of the main piece of advice was never order from a maker that demanded full payment up front. This came from other (well known/regarded). makers. Only experience I have wasn't w/ a knifemaker but a holster maker. Stated before I ordered would be a 12-14 week wait& I would have to "pay up front". Took 18 months to get the holster and MANY phone calls,texts&e-mails. Holster was top shelf but would never order from the guy again.
Just FYI GREG responded and I told him about bladeforum members who have not gotten their blades.. lots of upset folks. Etc. Etc. ...
He swears everyone will get their knife. He actually offered me a refund in partial refunds. I told him this is his last chance to commit to me and make good. He said 2 months it will be done(yea I heard this about 6x before) so I told him mid November I expect the knife and I hope he makes good on rest of bladeforum memeber. As rude and angry, threatening I was on my email to him he kept composure... mid Nov I will report back and let u all know what he says.

Thanks!! I am not holding my breath... He has made me 3 knives past 10 years and never had any issues but this 4th one was ridiculous on the excuses.. I told him there are atleast 5 people I know on bladeforums that are extremely upset with the 2-3 year wait and my plans were to file something with PayPal or maybe even other.. He told me he WILL GET EVERYONE WHOLE! BUt he will not be doing custom orders any long WHICH I respect what he says - however I wish he would still
take custom order because I really like how he makes his knives vs a few makers- I have used past!!
Anyways - I told him I would still buy another knife from him when its ready!

I definitely will send on Tuesday. Out of town. I had greg make me a custom knife homage to the Jefferson Spivey Sabertooth knife with....
1. Stag hand
2. Brass plate
3. Brass wrap around finger ring..
4. Over built blade
5. Thick true tip

Hey gentlemen. So as the story took a long time and I had to provide Greg all the details. He did not have a original Spivey knife on hand. He did not want to make it longer than 7" but I wanted it 9" which in reality he was right 7 to 7.5 is a much easier knife to handle.....
Overall I am extremely happy with so much features of this knife!!
Blade profile is just amazing. The blades body and thru to the TIP has so much body to it... VERY OVER BUILT just like I requested. The blade stock is huge. Guessing it's atleast 5/8s. I requested the brass liner and he went above and beyond since he knows I like brass and did the' finger guard" plated in brass. It's DONE so well the brass in finger gaurd looks like it was Cut in. Handle slabs are a beautiful piece of stag.
The only recommendation I gave him since I am a big sabertooth fan is
Slabs where the meet gaurd area should b rounded..!!
He may not b doing any more custom knives anymore due to back log ofnl work! I really want to add a homage of a RANDALL TENITE 14 to collection. He is trying to locate that type of handle material. I will never be able to afford randall tenite but if u add up collection I could of probably bought 5 of them already! Lol..
