Perhaps a long overdue thread for those of us who have found ourselves fans and admirers of their work.
I am a relatively new owner of a Grimsmo Norseman, but in the few weeks I have owned mine I couldn't be more impressed - so much so I have another out for delivery today. In the case of the Norseman it is no doubt a polarizing design, we have all heard the comparisons of the blade to either an equestrian phallic symbol or some other figure in people's imagination. That's all well and good, I would like for this thread to be a place where those of us who do enjoy the bros. Grimsmo can come and share our experiences, pictures and have general discussion regarding their slim but IMO amazing product line.
My first point of admiration is no doubt how inspiring their story is. From starting out in his garage John Grimsmo has gone from a dreamer to having a worldclass facility (in I believe now his second building) and is literally making EVERY part (other than the ceramic balls in their bearings) in house. To me that is incredible, nothing outsourced, no reliance on other manufacturers; TOTAL control over his product and what bears his name. The Grimsmo's make three products: two knives and a pen, they have limited themselves to that and they are chasing perfection within that structure, that's awesome - they aren't spread too thin.
The overall transparency of their company is more than admirable as well, their YouTube channel is well worth a watch. Take for example, the episode regarding lock bar inserts, he literally details and opens his shop to archive the trials and tribulations of getting them just right - everything from the geometry to the materials and the final QA/QC. We are in a time in the knife world where there is very little transparency, and much of what we see is simply a design done by an "OEM." Grimsmo IS the OEM, they don't hide from it; and they actually have opened their doors so you can watch them as they progress. Watching that mad scientist at work has been fascinating, he is relentless in his quest for perfection.
Their attention to detail is virtually second to none, with everything from the way that they mill and engrave the interior of the scales, they stamp their name on the bearing cages, they engrave "rivets" onto their hardware, and the list goes on.

did a really nice review of the Rask (which I believe was his second review of the knife), he really captured what I am attempting to say above better than I can -
I suppose I could go on further but I won't; I would like to hear others' accounts/impressions and overall thoughts on the Grimsmo line.
*Maybe we can keep this thread positive, please?*
