I know this has been covered several times, but all the links that I click to bring up a "hollow grind height chart" no longer work.

I know there are several variables to determine the height of a hollow grind...stock thickness, contact wheel size, etc... but what can I ROUGHLY expect my height to be when using 0.125" - 0.1875" stock with a 10" contact wheel?

8" wheel 3/4+, 10" wheel 1"+, 14" wheel 1 1/4"+. The reason I put the plus in there is you can usually
walk it up a bit if you need to.

I threw this together a little bit back : https://www.cutleafstudios.com/blade-angles/hollow

It's not intuitive, but you can adjust the parameters and get a visual idea of the grind. If this seems like it might be helpful to you, please contact me for anything that might make it better / more helpful.

The units are abstract, so you can pretend they are all mm, or all thousandths of an inch, and it works out the same.

That's a helpful tool. I like how it's set up for Scandi, hollow and chisel

Funk that is an interesting tool. What parameters. Inches mm etc would help if a bit confused. Still though excellent work!

The thicker the steel the taller the grind. As you get some practice you will be able to walk the grind as high as you want it(within reason). I've seen a guy take a hollow grind with an 8" wheel up 1 1/2". Those charts are helpful though.
