Great looking start, I like the non-traditional toolling arm.
Show us pics when its finished.

Thankyou very much:D

The tooling arm was all I had so i thought i might as well use it. as you can see i bolted 2 pieces of thicker metal inside the tip where the contact wheel would go just to reinforce it and I plan on using those protruding bolts for a work rest type thing. Now that I think about it, I had better spray some spray foam in there or something or ittl be mighty loud. Any suggestions for spray foam or alternatives?

Looks great! I like doing the scrounging thing when it comes to making something like a grinder because it's more fun than just buying the stock and building according to a pattern. It might take longer, but...

For noise attenuation, I prefer to pack the tube with pink insulation and then cap the ends with spray foam in a can. Pack the insulation in as tight as you like because you're trying to create a denser bar that will have a lower frequency of resonance - as opposed to a light, fluffy job that will trap insulating air pockets.
