Grinder Decisions

I'm looking at the KMG 3 speed package. Is the KMG Base plate necessary? It would save me $120 if I don't need it.

I am so glad I went with a VFD on my GIB, I am also glad that I went with the KBAC-27D VFD over the less expensive options. The precise yet simple controls are a dream, and I never have worry about my speed being a touch too slow or fast for what I am doing. I still need to come up with a small wheel set up, but that will come after my move.

The base plate is not necessary, just makes it alot easier if you want to run Rob's motor and vfd. That's what all the holes in it are for, plus you can direct attach a tooling arm to it.

Thanks for this post guys. I'm in precisely the same position. I'd like plug-and-play, but would rather just pay once for exactly what I want, even if that means I have to spend more and set it up myself. Decisions, decisions!
