bought a motor from IG here on the site, 3750 TEFC 1.5hp....

going to get a wil hurley grinder kit...

but the thing is, it comes set up for direct drive, should i use step pulleys, or get a speed controller?

are speed controllers hard to wire up? very expensive? what would be be best to do? budget is limited as well

i bought one of those motors too. apparently you cant get a speed control for single phase.

according to wil you can use pulleys also on that grinder so that will be fine.

also something to consider is that the Bader 3 which is what that grinder is based off of come with this speed of motor. either way i think you will do fine at least for the short run until you figure something out.

did your motor come with a base plate/mounting bracket?

thanks

Jake
