Grinder for apartment

Well, I appreciate all your responses. There literally wasn't one I didn't get anything out of. So, I'll be following you guys advice and I've decided to use my sister's place, set up a bench there with the tools and knock of a bunch of knives during good weather. Do you have a good tip for a good knife grinder/sander that isn't huge?
 
I just watched this video, for beginner it will work and keeps cost down until you get a 2x72.

If you can afford it definitely go with a 2x72 with a vfd. It opens all the doors.
 
I'm not a seasoned knife maker by any stretch but I know enough that I see no upside to a grinder in a "rented" living space or outside near vehicle parking of others. I think both the noise and the grinding mess would eventually present problems for you. Personally I think it borders on being inconsiderate and disrespectful of others property as well as quiet/peace. jmo
