Yeah I would have liked the holes for the contact wheels on the multi-platen to not have already been bored out to 1/2" (mine were), since I would like to have tapped them and screwed a bolt in from the other side, which would have been a simpler solution for trying to set it up so that I can freely rotate the platen all the way over.
I would prefer that method as well, and have had a conversation about this with myself quite a few times. The only reason I've left it as a clearance hole, is make getting the wheels perpendicular easier. If the hole isn't tapped perpendicular to the plate, then the wheel will also be off.
The indexable clamping levers are really handy. I use them on a variety of projects. Enco also has them in a variety of sizes.
