Today my grinder motor fizzled. I think it is done. I am in need of a new motor, preferably 1HP, nothing crazy, TEFC or not, preferably to be wired with a switch and ready to mount and plug in ready to go. I NEED IT, but I also need a good price please if anyone has a motor, even unwired, I am looking. I would be happy to take this time to upgrade to the motor from Rob, but I have payments to make on my truck and other life type things.

Hey Sam
Take the motor to a company that rebuilds motors. The 1 1/2hp motor I bought for my grinder just stopped working one day, I brought it to the shop that I bought it from and he had a quick look at it and said the brushes looked like they were a little dirty and cleaned them. It's been working ever since. He didn't charge me anything but I had bought the motor 4 months before. It could be something simple that coud be easy to fix.

PS if this is a good excuse to get a 2hp or a 3 hp motor then "that motor is dooomed! don't bother, it will be cheaper to get something else blah, blah, blah!"

Thanks guys.

Matt, if it was like a REALLY nice motor, I would take it to be repaired(in fact I just found a local place that does motors), but like you said I'll use this opportunity to get something nice maybe.

Hey Sam,
I traded Two Knives for a new two hp motor at my local electric motor shop.
I was happy and so was he. might give it a shot.
