I am glad i am not the only one that does this kind of stuff. I guess it is inherent in the work we do. I don't wear gloves anymore when grinding, even when hogging, until the piece gets too warm to handle. Then I will grab a pair if more needs to be hogged off. This happened when i was removing the fluting left by twisting a billet. I think I was on the second set of flutes when the grinder bit me.
It isn't too bad. It hurts more when I don't use it. Last night I spent the evening putting in a new vent free 30,000 BTU heater in the basement shop. Heck, they had them on sale at Lowes for 50% off, so I couldn't pass it up. At least now it isn't 40 deg down there anymore. Tonight is my regular Jack and Coke Tuesday, so no knife work for me.
Tomorrow, though, I will get back into the shop and show that grinder who is the boss!
