Grinder Wobble

I’ve recently put together a new grinder. There is a noticeable wobble in the belt. What could be causing this? Video link attached. All wheels are pretty new.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Try another belt and try more belt tension

I have the same issue but not as bad a s yours. I tried different belts and putting more tension on the belt. But it did not help. The other day I used my small wheel attachment and there was no wobble at all. So maybe something to do with the Platten.

I tried more belts and it doesn’t wobble as much as the one in video. There is still some there though. Also tried more tension. How much tension is usually applied? I feel like it has pretty good tension?

Use a 60lb spring on mine and run it tight.

Some belts wobble that is a fact.

First off, let me say the grinder looks really well built. Two things. You need to get a gas shock, or coil spring, and you need to get your drive and tracking wheels aligned. The crowns are fighting each other. Its much better to have the tension system in front of the tracking wheel rather than try to pull it down from the back with an extension spring or use a torsion spring at the pivot.

If you can put a twenty pound weight on the arm beside the wheel and move it down there is not enough tension. 25-30 pounds of actual pressure against the belt is a good bet.

I would see if lining up your tracking wheel closer to center like the other wheels helps. Looks to be favoring the left side of the tracking wheel.

It looks like you're using OBM wheels? Crowned platen wheels, crowned tracking wheel.

I could not get anything to run straight reliably with crowned platen wheels.

yes, OBM. Platen wheels are flat, crowned tracking wheel.

GENIOUS! Making sure the wheels are aligned did the trick. I kinda feel like a moron now. Pretty basic stuff, but not for a nube!

Cool. If you run into problems later consider going with a spring out front. Where is the tensioner now? Torsion?
