I am fairly new to knives and have been lurking here for a few weeks. Historically I am a big gun guy, but have started to take an interest in knives. Just what I needed, another expensive hobby!
I have started to build a nice little collection the last few months. Medford Praetorian, Medford 187F, Medford 187 DP, Marfione Custom Anax Tri-Tone, Zero Tolerance 0561, Microtech Combat Troodon, Microtech Ultratech, and a Southern Grind Jackal.
The look and design of knives is what attracts me. I see knife making as art. The actual function is secondary to me at the moment. I own a business that does a lot of shipping and receiving, so knives are really glorified box cutters to me.
I really love the over-built look and design of Medford's knives. I find it very appealing. I came across Grindhouse Knives while doing a search on bladehq.com. I fell in love with the look and design of these knives. They remind me of Medford in that they are over-built, but they are also more elegant at the same time. The Grindhouse mini FOK I wanted was out of stock at GPknives, so I contacted Grindhouse and they are making one for me. You guys should check out their knives. I think they are artful and suspect they are definitely up and coming.
Here is a link to GPknives where you can see many nice examples of Grindhouse's wears:
