Grinding a swedge

I was drawing a new knife design last night and settled on a harpoon style. I was wondering if you grind the swedge before the primary bevel or after. Is there a difference? Thanks in advance.

On my knives I grind in the swedge last. For me, it allows me to concentrate on the grind height, taper and symmetry of the main bevels first. When everything else has been established the swedge goes in fairly quickly.

Lately I have been grinding the swedge first and then tapering the point to bring up the "tip" of the swedge. Of course, Nathan's convex platoons help get the curved ones perfect. Just set the curve on the spine and then roll the blade over to whatever angle you want and voila!!!
