Grinding Belts

[Uppercut]

I am sure this has been asked in the past but I am new to the forum and have tried with no success to check previous threads.
I would like to know how much success people have had with the various materials on belts. Aluminum Oxide vs. Blue Zirconia. Etc.

Welcome to Shop Talk Uppercut!!
I'm a freak, I use aluminum oxide bellts almost exclusively. I know alot of makers that use the higher end belts and swear by them but I've always gotten good results with the a/o belts I buy from GL Pearce Abrasives and they're just $1.80 a pop. If you want to try them, GL's number is 1800-938-0021.
I did just get some of the 3M 967's and 977's in to try em out for hogging but haven't used them yet.
You'll get alot of good info from the folks that frequent this forum.
