I found a new old style vg1 Cold steel Voyager, but it is serrated. How hard or easy would be to grind off serrations with 1x30 belt sander without losing a lot of metal. Is it worth doing this or should I just buy some other knife.Couldnt find new plain edge version, so I thought of doing it...

It will be very easy. I have done it with a bunch of CS Holdouts with serrations. I did all my by hand with DMT stones.. With the belt sander it should take a minute or two. Show it when your finished

I did my old El Lobo (early name of Medium Vaquero) on my HF 1x30. Pretty easy, and you won't lose too much steel. Just take your time and dip the blade in water after each pass or so. The steel at the edge is (obviously) very thin and easy to heat up.
