On a tanto tip/chisel grind ala Buck Intrepid/ Specwar/ Aviator (very angular approx 135 degreee angle), does it matter which part I grind first? In practice it seems as though I have better results grinding the front edge first and then grinding the bottom or belly of the blade. That way I get a pretty clean line from the corner to the grind lines. Any tips?

ive always found doing it the opposite of what you mention works best...that way you get a clean line at the top all the way out to the edge...if you grind the tip first the wheel wants to fall out of the groove as you reach the tip and round off the nice crisp corner where the top of your main grind meets the tip grind.....in fact...i dont grind the tip at all on tantos until it comes back from the h/t so i can polish the main bevel before i grind the tip bevel.. thats what works best for me...
