Grinding the bevel

So I'm working with an old file to make my first knife (I'll be doing it through stock removal). I annealed it last night, and was wondering, what tool do most of you use for grinding the bevel? I'm guessing a belt sander?

file it by hand and use sandpaper wrapped around a block
