Grinding w/ 1" contact wheel?

I'm looking at using a 1" contact wheel to hollow grind.To me,Less surface area would give you more control especially grinding small folder blades.

Who uses 1" wheel instead of a 2" contact wheel?

I've been grinding w/ a 1X48 grinder for a while,Now I have a Dozier grinder.
I'm making a belt splitter,Still learning the fine points of hollow grinding.

I have a serrated and a smooth 1" wheel but wont sell them because of your reason above. I bought mine used but I cant see why you cant buy a 2" and have it turned down on a metal lathe. Be sure to leave the hub at 2" so you wont need to use a spacer or modify your grinder.
