"Grippier" G10 scales for a 710?

I've got a 710-1 in M390 and it's my favorite knife. I like the look of the plain black G10 scales just fine but I wish they had a "grippier" texture similar to the new Axis Strykers.

Any suggestions?

Those are easy to make, due to just being slap on scales.
Buy some material and make some. Get medium texture for extra grip.

"Easy" is a relative term.
Medium peelply comes in .125" (1/8") thickness.
However, a 710's stock scales are .090" thick.
1/8" is definitely too thick of a scale to work with the axis lock.
You want to get the thickness down to at least .100".
Not to mention the fact that the Axis slot, screw holes & pivot holes need to be counterbored and drilled in precise locations for the knife to operate correctly.
How about hollowing out the omega spring cavities?
Cake walk, right? ;)

Good point. Sorry. Easy might be adding anzo style grooves or similar with a Dremel to save $.

I really want the same factory shape, thickness, etc. just in a grippier G10. The factory scales are a tab bit too slick. I would consider maybe a different groove pattern.

Coarse peelply with standoffs?
It's a 707, but you get the idea.
It's all good Bella.... there's no shortage of custom scale work or guys doing it!

Hey Glocker, if you're gonna get scales for the 710, get in touch with Keyman and think about dressing it up just a touch...the micarta is nice and grippy, even whilst wet.
