Griptilian clicking sound when closed

I've got 15-16 different Griptilians and about 3-4 had this rattle when I got them.

I have not noticed that it causes any problem at all and all but 1 lost it after being used awhile. It seems that as you open the knife and the blade hits the stop pin, it sort of "sets" it in place and the rattle stops.

Some folks are bugged enough by it, to loctite it, but I haven't found it that noticeable, unless I deliberately shake one really hard when the blade is closed....which I don't find a need to do often honestly.

I'd carry and use it awhile and see if it clears up on it's own, if it doesn't and it bugs you enough, a SMALL drop of crazy glue or loctite can be put on it.

That's great, thank you for your help Bear Claw. It's not a matter of life or death, so I'll carry it and see if it will clear on it's own.

It makes sense really, if the stop pin is a little loose, when there is a significant amount of pressure placed on it (i.e. the blade being locked open), it should stop rattling, since it's being forced against the holes.

Let's see how nuts it can make me over the next couple weeks, ha.

Thanks again!

What Bear Claw Chris Lappe said.

The stop pin will probably settle in and stop rattling after a little use, but if the rattle bothers you, a very small amount of blue Loctite won't do any harm. I have a dozen variants from the Grip family. I can't remember any of them ever having a rattle, but if they did, they haven't now.

Awesome. Thanks a lot man, I really do appreciate it. I'll be sure to come back here with any other Grip questions I might have.

Thanks for the clarification. I had assumed there was because it appeared like one.

The would have sworn it was a sleeve as well until I took one apart!

The way it rolls in the liner does make it look like it's a sleeve spinning on a pin.
