Does anyone know where i can find a comparison chart for these with their respective sizes in microns?

Thanks

Nice charts.... here's another showing the micron sizes that Shapton is currently using in their waterstones (color coded by type... glass and pro/kuromaku. Yellow are just calculated to show the size if Shapton did make that grit of stone). It also shows the size & tollerance range for two older JIS grit sorting methods, Norton grit sizes (if their catalog is right they seem to use coarser grit, which would help explain why people say their 8k waterstone finishes more like a 5k Shapton, but bonding, grit shape and porosity also affect finish) and the particle sizes for DMT's diamond plates and ceramic crock stick (note, these are rated by mesh number rather than JIS grit, so once it is broken in their 1200 mesh plate should finish like a Shapton 1500 grit stone, though plates invariably have a few stray "high riders", that leave deeper scratches than the rest, making plates less suitable for polishing than stones or diamond paste/spray).
