Gritless cork belts

Again me, with another belt question :)

Sadly I can't find a source locally for the regular cork belts, only if I buy them 6 at a time...

But they carry Norton W445 cork polishing belts, with no grit added. Do these work with different compounds, similar to the regular ones? I would use them mostly for preparing flats and hollow grinds for mirror finishes, after a X45 Norax of Trizact belt.
 
they will work, but only to whatever grit the compound is, because there is no other abrasive. it will not remove previous scratches like a cork belt with abrasive built into it. i cannot find them locally either, i get them from trugrit or supergrit through the mail. the good news is they last for a hundred knives or so. i use the 400 & 800 grit corks.
 
Thanks for the input, looks like I will have to buy some the next time I order from overseas.

Not sure if you are in the USA? Tru-Grit here in California sells Hermès Cork belts in 220Grit & up! One at a time!
 
Nope, but looks like they have really reasonable international shipping prices considering all the possibilities. 22$ shipping for 7 belts, thats not bad for overseas shipping. I will get a few cork belts and structured ceramics (Norax, Trizact), I love the normal versions of them for finishing.
