I don't care if torx or hex, all the same for me. What I don't understand is that they use those round, huge 80s style screw heads. Pocket for flat hex or counter sunk for those torx would look much cleaner.

Is it a strength issue?

No,..The strength yield is in the thread itself, so changing out the driver won't change those values. The following is just a guess, but I think it's the cost of the torx itself..Probably minor cost over a long run.
Speaking for the 21 and not the 25, the barrels that have the female thread are also custom made. Adding torx to that side as well is yet another cost..Not to mention the diameter difference from the major diameter of the thread to the outside of the barrel is pretty thin as it is.
Throw some torx on there and see how many warranty issues you have from people overtightening and breaking the barrel on the other side of the Ti scale.
