Grizzly Grinder? Good for knife making?

im a coote owner, was turned away from grizzly by quite a few people that just seemed to think that the coote is a better machine. there is a little setup but having made quite a few knives on it since earlier this year, i couldnt be happier. speed is controlled by pulley/belt changes, smooth as silk.. and norm coote is the best to deal with, makes you feel like you walked into the hardware store and youre chatting at the counter.

did i mention it's bomb proof? barring my house collapsing i dont see any way this thing is going to flex/bend/give/break in any way, ever. plus the motor isnt integral (youll have to buy one..) but this is kind of nice because you can replace the motor instead of the whole unit.

sorry about the fanboi but i pimp this thing any chance i get. great machine.

some time ago, when I was upgrading from my little 1 inch belt grinder, I asked this question and went nuts for a week deciding. I got a coote. I am VERY HAPPY I got the Coote. I've worked on Grizzlys since then when visiting people and find the speed issues to be fairly extreme. Plus, the knife rest option down by the contact wheel for the coote is fantastic.
