I'm sitting hear messing around on the forums drinking some 60 minute IPA from DogFish Head and this show came one.

What's this dude's deal? If that was a member of my family I would have to forever deny being related to the fool.

He disrupts nature every chance he gets and is annoying as all hell.

Has anyone watched this guy? Too bad he got eaten, the show was such a hit

He is a whack. If ya know his whole story he was a massive drug addict for years. Doing the diary was his way of getting more in touch with hisself, his thoughts, not mine :)

I can't believe it made it to TV and get the air play it does.

Too bad he got eaten is right. If he was alive today, we wouldn't know who the hell he was.

By the way, I just had their Imperial 90 min the other night. Outstanding beer!!!!!!

I'm on #3 and it's 6% and I don't drink much. I might be Bear food soon :)

Yeah I think the imperial was 8%, good thing its only sold in 4 pacs eh

World Wide Stout is brewed at 13% + sold by the single bottle.

Hopefully we'll have a get together somewhere close soon, I'll bring you a bottle. I only live about 30 minutes from the brewery.

You see how importan this Grizzly man really is. The thread turned to beer fast :)

That would be great bro! I am always down to try different beer.

Its easy to see how it can turn, beer is definately more entertaining than that quack:D

Yeah that poor dumb bastard!
Well, he went out like he wanted to I guess.
I think there is audio of he and his hippie girlfriend getting mauled....never heard it, but I think they played it at the end when it was in theatres...maybe not.....that may not have been so good to hear.
I really enjoyed listening to the bushpilots version from when he flew over and saw the remains and when he and his group of rangers were charged and took down the bear......that guy had some sense to him!

It was a shock to me that that fools name was mentioned along with Chris McCandless.
(Hope I didn't open a can of worms there.)

I enjoy the show.
I like bears and Alaska.
The guy is weird and should have packed a Smith .500 just in case.

Did you ever hear the tape of him being eating alive?
They had the audio on a video going and he was begging his girlfriend to hit the bear eating him with a frying pan.
He got her killed and eaten too.
I like bears but I like guns too.
Reminds me of the antigun clients that come for shooting lessons after they've been through a home invation or rape.
He won't get a second chance.
He sure took some nice footage of bears and wildlife.

Hmmm.... when a man's last words are "Hit it with the frying pan! Hit it with the frying pan!", it leaves some doubt as to his legacy. Treadwell didn't end up as bear food, he wound up as bear crap. ;)

Apparently, it all started because he never got the part of 'Woody' on 'Cheers'.
...The scary thing is, that's seriously what he said. The guy did more harm than good to his cause, seemed to be disconnected from the outdoors community and just did his own thing. Conservationist? No one hunted bears in that area for decades.
I was under the impression that they destroyed that tape, or his brother never released it. If it is out, as stated earlier, I'd rather it have been destroyed.

That was the last beer I had before going dry for good...man that stuff is strong! I unfortunatly I am on the wagon for good, and am also nicotine free for about 3 months as well....yea, good for me. .yea ....seriously...that is some tasty beer with some serious kick.

This site has a pretty good write-up about the attack on Treadwell and his girlfriend:

Treadwell

At the end it claims the authentic audiotape was never released, something which I have read elsewhere fwiw. He did just about everything wrong it seems, it's a wonder to me he lasted as long as he did.
