Grohmann Knives ?

Has anyone used the canadian elliptical styles for skinning/field dressing?

I'm thinking that, given its canadian history, it's been used a lot for that, but conventional wisdom says it's too pointy and lacks the belly.

I once had a stainless #1 saber grind. While I liked the shape and ergonomics of it, I never felt I could get it decently sharp. I gave it away. If I get another, it will be a carbon flat grind.

I have a number four, two folders and a kitchen knife. I quite like the fixed blade knives but I find the two folders I have aren't tight in the frame and move around at the blade pivot when opened. Grohmann tells me it is normal to have movement in a lock back folder but neither my buck prince or Kershaw black gulch move at all.

I have several, they are made not far from me and was in the shop a few times, haven't done a tour yet though.
My favourite pattern is the mini skinner.

A lot of knife in a small package, feels great in my hand. I don't like their factory angles but after convexing it stayed sharp for a long time, I am impressed.
A better factory grind and I think these blades would be a lot more popular.

I have a original belt knife the #1 and it's nice but it's stainless. I would get the carbon if I could do over
