Groomsman gifts

I'd go with the blue Cadet and their initials as proposed, but skip the date of your wedding. The date may be a big deal to you, but not to them (long term). I carry a Vic Cadet every day, and whether or not they are into knives, it's a great pocket knife and will be something that most of them will get a lot of value from.

Try the SAk Alox Bantam, slim and classy a main blade and a bottle opener. What else does a groomsman need!

True - no need to include the date. A good compromise would be just the year.

Hey guys. I'm getting married in April and was thinking of what gift to give my groomsman. Since our wedding color is blue, I was leaning towards getting the guys the limited edition steel blue Victorinox Cadet and having them engraved with their initials and the date of my wedding. What do you guys think?

Good call. Especially if they are not knife people. I've yet to meet a person who didn't think Victorinox knives were cool, no matter whether they were knife folk or not.

I have. It's called the counselor say my high school who are responsible for your punishment. Swiss Army knife is just as bad to them as a machete

Even your counselor checked out your SAK after you left the room...then went home and bought one.

Now the only other real question is...do I get one for myself as well?!?!?

I would. I bought all my groomsmen knives as well. I actually bought one for myself first just to try it out to be sure it was going to be something the guys would like.

The cadet is my favorite SAK and would make a great gift. I would exclude the date on the other knives but put it on yours, that way you always have a reminder :)

Cadet over Opinel for sure. Nothing wrong with a blue Cadet (or other SAK).

If the budget allows, Streamlight Nano (or other small keychain light) comes in blue and runs about $7 each. Knife and light combo would be undefeateable.

I ended up going with the steel blue cadet. I'll post some pics once they arrive. Thanks for all the help and suggestions all!

I agree with Eric@DLT.... order one for yourself for sure.....get it dated. Truth is though, your anniversary date will mean little to the groomsmen, the event will be special for sure, but its not a date to record in their history.....

I'd engrave them with their name and call it good.

A knife makes a great gift for a groomsman, usher etc. My brother gave me and the other guys an Old Timer Stockman back in 1970 and I still have it. Hell if they don't appreciate a knife as a gift, why are they in your wedding?

And I did end up getting myself one with initials and date. Everyone else just has their initials on them.
