So, first post... Long time lurker and really good with the search tool but this one has me stumped... I am getting married in April and would like to get my Groomsmen a nice EDC something in the $120 or below range. They all know I am a knife guy so it would be personal plus hey they should have one!

Anyhow I EDC the Spyderco Paramilitary two, this knife is almost impossible to find for a reasonable price anymore so that one is out. I was really wanting to pick up a few DPx HEST fixed blades and pass those out but the future wife seems to think that they would rather have a folder, chances are she is right and I can't afford the DPx HEST 2.0 so that one is out. Anyhow I have done lots of searching etc and am not really brand conscious I would like it to have a decent steel, maybe G-10 scales but most importantly I do not want a Chinese made knife. I would like USA...Germany... Etc..

Thanks for any suggestions ahead of time!

How about sage carbon fiber? or sage 1 or w.e u wanna call it. Its a nice knife very occasion suiting too, i see em 90-115$ depending where ur looking or how lucky u are.

Carbon Fiber Blur. You can get a custom engraved Mini grip from bench made for that price depending on your options and steel.

For around $10 more you can get the Hogue EX01in aluminum, with a tanto, or drop point.

P.S
If you don't mind blems kershawguy.com has zero tolorence 550's for $120 shipped!

ZT0350 in different combinations of blades. The DLC coated, Satin, Stone Washed, and Tiger striped. Get partial Serrations if you have more groomsman than four. Everyone will have the same knife just a little different. Great knife that could last them a life time if taken care of. Oh, then find yourself a ZDP189 version after all you are entering a life sentence!

Spyderco Native 5, if you can find them in stock - right around $120. Beautiful knife, built like a tank and not too big. Your groomsmen will be well outfitted for years to come.

I was in my best friend's wedding and he got us all stainless steel handled Byrd knives engraved with our first initial and last name. And, for being Spyderco's economy line, they are extremely well built and seem much higher quality.

If you were set on Para2's I would contact a couple high volume dealers, explain your plight and see if they would take a pre-order on the next batch if they expected to receive any in the near future. I know they keep trickling into dealers. You could also make a want to buy ad here and see if anyone will sell you some at a reasonable price.

What about some Alox SAK's from Swissbianco? Space to engrave, hard to find "unique colours" , classic, useable knives. Shipped and engraved locally you'd be well under budget and they'd be heirloom pieces.

For about $30 more you could get them all a ZT350 great EDC & all around great knife. Hell if you want you can even send me one for the suggestion lol.

Here is a link & if you look through you can find the non tiger striped blade for $140 or so Great company to deal w/ & Whitt is a hell of a guy. Company name says it all USA Made Blade tell him Lobo sent ya :)

I second Totaldbag's recommendation, the ex-01 has become my favorite folder. I have both gmascus and aluminium, I think the aluminium is more classy. The button lock and all the hardened parts make the knife something that will last a lifetime.

The Kershaw Rake would make a nice gift. It has the patented Composite Blade with CPM D2 for the cutting edge. Around $95 or so depending, and you might get a break if you explain what you are doing.

I second chrisfa s recommendation for a Sage 1 if you can accept a knife from Taiwan made with U S steel. Elegant but grippy carbon fiber handles. Great cpm 30 steel. Light weight. Very sturdy. Just got mine last month and I m very impressed with it. I had to see it in a store before I realized what a fine knife it is. Superb fit and finish. Dressier than a Para2. Good for the occasion.

I would suggest the Spyderco Sage 1 or 3.
The 2 would be great if you could get a deal.

The Sage 1 has a classy look to it with the Carbon Fiber scales. The low ride pocket clip is great because the knife just disappears into the pocket. s30v is a great steel and wouldn't fail them. The liner lock is a classic lock that works well.

The Sage 3 is more out there than the Sage 1 I suppose. It has grippy handles in a brighter color so it may be less likely to get lost, is super smooth, and the lock is great.

Griptilian or a ZT0350 would be my vote. If your state laws are strict I would pick the Griptilian.
