Hello Everyone,
I just got the pics back from Coop for this one. It is a grosse messer, pattern welded, with 3 twisted bars and one piled bar. The blade bars are each 9 layers total, comprised of of 80crv2, O1, and 15N20. By mass, the bars are about 3:1.5:1, with 80crv2 being the, "3," and O1 being, "1.5".

The guard is 60'ish layers of 1084 and 15N20. The pommel is only 4 layers of 1084 and 15n20. The handle is ebony.

OAL = 23.5"
Blade = 18.5"
Handle + guard = 5.5" (the blade is seated into the guard about 1/2", which is why the lengths of the parts don't add up to the OAL).

This one costs $1,200, plus shipping. There is no sheath or by-knife. Although, they would be quite nice. I still have some of the parent bar that I could throw in for someone who wants to make a by-knife.

thanks for looking,

What an incredible bargain. I had a messer made years ago that wasn't nearly as nice and cost about twice as much. I wish I could afford this one.
