grudig hand crank radio

Rumble,four store's and only one available, Damaged not for sale. also told that it is not being carried any more. maybe someone will have better luck. :( Akabu

I just bought one yesterday and found out that while they are scarce they arnt discontinued just out of stock at most places, if you call your local store they can tell you what stores in your city carrys them and how many they have in stock, thats how I found this one I went into my local store and asked for one and they told me that only one store had any left in stock and they had 6 of them so I ran all the way across town and grabbed one. I've got to say that this is a really good radio, it can pull in fm stations that my 300.00 sony stereo cant pull in, on 2mins of winding I was listening to it for about 45min on and off, it's light so it'll go in my backpack when I'm out camping. I dont think I'll even need to use the batteries I put in it but they're good for backup........
 
I dont know if this will be of help to anyone but here in the UK those Radio Shack radios are sold under the 'Morphy Richards' brand name -Model MR2707. I dont know if thats available in N.America but its one and the same model as the RS one. They go for about £35GBP. Found it here:

I got lucky and picked up the floor model... The guy gave me an extended warranty on it.

FYI, the other model is FR400. It is also hand cranked. But like the earlier post said, it's not that good. Thanks to firkin for the warning... I would have gotten suckered in by the lower price.
 
Been looking for this radio for half a year now. The cheaper one is available at Canadian Radio Shacks but they are being dicontinued (it also does not have SW capability).

If Rumble, or anyone else has a line on one of these could you let me know?

Is there any way we can get Radio Shack to "Special Order" some of these?

One clerk told me she could order it.

I called a RS here. Apparently they can view inventory from other locations! The guy told me there were two stores near me that have them - 3 units total.

I can't believe how many RS there are around here!!
 
Hey chissen, any way you or RS could get one up to Toronto? Would the cost be prohibitive?

I know what you mean about RS locations -- offhand, I can think of 4 that are within 1/2hr driving distance of where I live!
 
Barber, I tried to email you but I didn't get a response back. I got you and Burton a radio. But Burton already is hooked up. And since I didn't hear from you, I'll be returning both of them. I can't keep them any longer because I'll be going out of town for a while. Sorry, I tried....
