Gryphon M-10 --- First month's impressions---WOW !

Ha, the Gryphon line is one that I've never seen a bad review on. They've been loved ever since their introduction. If you're curious, Terzuola's Battle Guard customs is what they are based on.

I know. I never found a bad one either.

I'm curious. Thanks for that.

EDIT: Well....I just found out I'll never own a Terzuola Battle Guard Custom. *lol*

You'll probably have trouble finding an M30a1, they were discontinued a couple of years ago. Mike Sastre at River City Sheaths used to sell them with his excellent Drawpoint sheath. Not sure if he's still doing business, but he used to keep a few in stock.

Meyerco was still making the CQB1, but I think they recently discontinued them as well. If you've never held one, the CQB1 feels very similar to the M30a1, but has a guardless micarta handle.

I thought I saw the M30 A1 in ATS-34 for $100 at The Cutlery Shop last time I looked....yeah, here ya go:

Yeah but don't you think that guard is half of the great feel of the knife? I sure do.

BTW, Sartre and River City are still in biz...I talked to him by phone a few weeks ago concerning a drawpoint sheath for my M-10 before I purchased the one I did. I may try him if I can't find that M30.

No clue what that link is, but it's not CS's storefront. Click the link that says "buy product online" and it will take you to their storefront, where the M30 has been out of stock for a year or more.

I sure do, especially on the M30a1 where the guards are very short and do not get in the way of just about any sort of grip.

OK, guess I should have gone one more click. Thanks for that.

I have a couple M10's.Found them late in the game myself. Had many of custom concealment blades and the gryphon really impresses me. Best bang for the buck and then some.

First time I ever saw one was at Riddle of Steel in 1995. Mr. Keating was demonstrating some of his drawpoint moves with one. I recall the early ones from that time were ATS-34 steel with a RC Hardness mark on the blade. Great knife.
