Not too surprising . GSM owns SOG now also and they already had lots of products crap long before the sale .

So why not just slap the Cold Steel label on the worst SOG stuff before the public catches on ?

I don't mind shuriken and in fact I like them and am more skilled in using them than any martial artist I know, at least those I've seen use them.

So my issue isn't with shuriken.

I actually like the old CS shuriken.

These new ones are just idiotic and look like something BudK would make.

It was intended to distract someone log enough to escape or attack them with a better weapon such as a sword.

In modern times the same concept could be something like throwing whatever you have in your hands in someone's face before drawing a pistol.
