Gso-10

Heads up:

We are closing preordering on these August 12th. It will still be a little bit until blanks are getting cut out, but we do have the steel already.

I'm taking the plunge for another piece of Survive cutlery.
I'd have a GSO-10 already but I don't really like finger grooves.
The new version looks spectacular!

I have been waiting until they announced that the 10 would be closing. So next fri i will buy the 10. Ive been confused if I should get the 12 instead but I better get the 10 on lock.

Oh my gosh, what should I do? I don't want to be sorry. I already have a 12 on order. I already have several 5.1s, 4.7s and 2.7s. Would complete the family. What to do? I am probably asking the wrong people.

FWIW - I've had a 10 for a few years and it's a BEAST, especially when you attach a lanyard to the choil. It really becomes a "wilderness lightsaber". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOSYPIC88k8 Though I would disagree with his assessment of it not being a great chopper when using a lanyard in the pommel. Maybe it's the gloves he's wearing but I've not had to reset my grip. I've chopped 2" to 4" 20+ year old vines choking one of my trees with it and it went through the hard vines like butter. I've also hacked into a stump and was shocked at how far into the stump the blade went. It's also a great batoning tool and does a great job striping bark. I've also used it to plane wood. Anyway, If you can't wait for the new ones get one of the older ones. You won't be disappointed.

I agree with you on this OBX. I don't have to reset my grip much, and I've now used it on a bunch of smaller stuff and that decent sized down tree I chopped in that thread awhile back, just to give it a good test. But I don't wear gloves, and like you say, maybe that had something to do with it. I need to try that choil lanyard, or just punch a hole there where he suggests for one.

Order one for each hand! :)

Sorry, but you knew it was coming :D

The GSO 8 cutoff is coming up soon also, if it has to be one or the other the 8 is probably more of a bridge between the 12 and 5.1.

Not me, i stopped resisting and placed my order just now, had to sell a few things to garner the funds but I'm in. I expect it to take a year or so, but am looking forward to comparing it to the first production run.

Here is my GSO 10 the day that it arrived way back when, along with the BRK I happened to be carrying that day.

Yes!!! I'm really excited for the Chiral-style comparison review

Lookin' good, Mac!

Got my second pre-order in for GSO-10, now just gotta put them out if my mind for a year or so.

There's a ridiculously good priced old spec on the exchange should one feel the urge not to wait.
