GSO 2.7 vs necker II

I'm eyeing the 2.7 because of this thread. I really thought about it when I was looking at the starters but went with the 3.5 with black and red G10 for my new edc.

The 3.5 is tempting also. The deeper finger choil was definitely a great idea. I just wish it had a no jimping option.
Edit..
I forgot the new jimping is less aggressive.
I think I'll give it a week before I decide!

I have to admit of all the "new" knives, the new 3.5 has my attention the most. I have been trying to get the wife interested in the hobby at least a little and offered to get her any knife (custom or otherwise) and while she is nervous about asking for an "expensive" knife she wanted a survive! We pulled up the new models and she handled my current ones and she was most enamored with the 3.5. I think it just has such a good universal appeal. I might just have to jump on one soon enough.....

That's great that she's wanting one! Hopefully she'll share it with you!
The one drawback I had with the old 3.5 was finger choil. I have nerve damage in my left hand (I'm a lefty), and I worried that it would slip and I would lose fingers. That same 3.5 was great in my right hand but that hand is absolutely worthless.
I really wish I had the ability to buy them all!

you and me both! too many options. I still think the 4.1 is my favorite, but I haven't wrapped my mitts around the 5.0 yet. I am sure I'll regret only getting one of those... she is definitely a keeper, she puts up with a lot of knife talk good egg!

I think you'll love the 5 when you get it if the 4.1 is your favorite. I had an FDE 5 that was amazing but my friend had to have it so you know how that story ended. I only ordered one also and I regret it big time.

i think the mid sized knives are so multi purpose that having duplicates is great! as we both said, should have gotten at least 2 - 5.0's....oh well. depending on where you live and what you do the small/large ranges may be more useful, but that 4.1-5 range just seems so universal! i am digressing too much from the original post, so i'll save further comments for the CHAT forum! but i do love discussing the various virtues of the GSO line!

Haha I forgot this was about 2.7's and Necker2's!
Silver Needle will be pissed!
I still want them both no matter what.

But seriously, nice discussion.

Standard, sorry to hear about the nerve damage. Doesn't sound fun, but then again it sounds like you havn't been letting it get you down.

Redwood, you'll have to put up some pics of the his and hers GSO sets when everything is settled.

And yes to midsize blades! Since I don't do a lot of fixed blade EDC my izula doesn't see a lot of direct use other than being there as a back up, but it is fun to use and I see the 2.7 filling that role perfectly. I love my 3.5 way more than I thought I would, it surprises me how much it can do at that size. But, with all that said, I'm so anxious for my 5 to arrive. That baby could really be my ultimate knife!
