GSO 4.1 Steel Type Poll

I use mineral oil and Rusty rags (a food grade blade oil). Works well. I did see a slight bit of rust showing on my 20cv but its carried boot style and I sweat profusely in the summer. It was expected. Wiped right away.

I did not know about Rusty Rags or CLP Wipes. I need to see what I can buy locally. If that doesn't work out, look at this amazing deal I found online. I can save $129!!!

I have used a number of different things, currently clp or ballistol, I was trying to find things besides mineral oil to use that would be food safe. Clearly clp is not, but has anyone tried their "froglube" supposedly made of food safe ingredients and get good reviews.

The 4.1 is for me the cross over from light to heavy/heavier duty so I use 3v.

I'd still welcome any input from anyone who stumbles upon this thread, but I'll say I've decided that I need a 4.1 in 3v, but it has to be a future purchase.

I came so close to buying a preorder today, but I need to cool it. I really want a new 10 (and an 8), so I figure I can worry about doubling up on models down the road.

Good choice in steel. I'm excited to get my 3v very soon.

I thought the 7/7 would be big enough but I'm already contemplating 8 or the 10, possibly even a 12.

Why do you make such desirable blades I feel the need to buy them all!? Why Guy!?

My first 4.1 was in M390. My second and third were in 3V. I will always choose 3V for any application of the 4.1 except when wet conditions are likely. Extended camping trips or multiple night hunting trips when weather is not predictable, the M390 will be in tow. But then a larger GSO in 3V will also be in or on the pack. I don't have one in 20cv nor do I feel I need one. It does not add much to the M390, and my preference is always 3V.
