That size and weight doesn't require toughness for chopping so as they have said one HT for smaller blades and one for larger ones .The blade should be just right for taking apart a deer as is one of the basic
tests I have for a hunting knife. It also tests my patience !! I would like the old straighter handle .

I don't recall there being a different heat treat for larger versus smaller blades.

There is the implementation of the new "delta 3v" which I had thought was the standard for all 3v blades after the 4.7 production run.

I'm really looking forward to this blade, and the future comparisons with the limited 4.

Same here. I'd love to get both of these in hand, but only have the limited on order. Timing was wrong on the 4.5 for me.

I can't remember where I got the different HT for different blade length. It certainly is reasonable and logical .I may have gotten it from Mr Carothers .
The waiting is anticipation , like that special phone call !!
