The new GSO-7/7 will be a little longer but it is also thinner so it should be close to the old spec GSO-7/7 which came in at 12.1 oz.

Trying to resist a 7.7 starter hard. I do have a question someone might know yhe answer to. I really really dug the look of the dark/flat earth DLC. Does anyone know why it was discontinued?

I saw you admit defeat in the other thread... congratulations on another order =)

I know there was a thread where Ellie (or maybe Guy) talked about the coating, but I couldn't find it. I thought they said that the coating didn't offer as much corrosion resistance as they wanted and since it was another option and another step in building the knife the reward wasn't worth the price. Can anyone else remember better than I can? Or better yet find the thread?

will the 5.1 I ordered on the started be the revised version or the old version? I'm hoping revised, not that there is anything wrong with the old version.

Thanks Silver I have little self control ☺. I really really tried to say no. I think your memory is probably correct. I did see a few youtube vids of people saying (I think it was blackscout) saying that the flat earth dlc was taking a beating well but yeah if it was not worth the effort and cost then I am happy with the answer. I think the 77 has probably knocked my Fehrman out of rotation.

They are going to be so sweet - I got a good feeling on the 7/7. The more I think about it the worse the waiting gets 😨.

I'm in the same boat. lol. Tried to resist, but ultimately ordered a 7/7. Too good to pass up.

I chose the 7/7 over the 5.1 after spending time with each. The 7/7 was perfectly balanced for all my generally needs...anything smaller would not give as good of chopping leverage; anything bigger and dexterity would suffer.
