This might belong on the auto thread but this is a review. I recently puchased a GT Auto Tanto blk ti on blk for a show piece. I have two friends who are now demanding I get them one of these knives. I'm no expert(I'll be the first to tell ya) but I had read an ariticle in a mag which I won't plug, because I'm not a mercenary, but saw a review nonetheless. After a little homework(thanks to ABC direct) I made an informed decision about buying one of these. Without a doubt this has to be one of the better autos on the market for the price. You don't have to be an auto fan to like this knife, you'll become a fan. Ok, enough babbling!
The knife arrived intact very heavy with a funky clip attathced. I wasn't overly impressed upon first glance. Afer opening and closing it a few times, I became infatuated with the firmness of the release and lock-up of the blade. I wish the blade was a little larger in comparison to the handle. The GT is quality, solid construction alum. handle and a nice AT-34 ti coated fully serrated blade or 8/10ths, brass sunken release button( hasn't gone off in my pocket yet!). I must also comment on the weird shaped handle, but I love it...I have no intentions on any piercing actions, but rest assured your hand is not going to slide up the blade should you stabb something. GT has also give you the option of placing the clip blad up or down on the handle, although I removed the clip because I couldn't remove the damn thing when using the clip from a number of pockets I tried. If you can buy it without the clip, it was a nice attempt on GTs part but it simply isn't effective as a quick draw clip. So in closing, thumbs up to the GT auto, you can't go wrong for the $$$.
