At BLADE last year I chatted with Peter R and he sang the praises of the GTC bearing system. Now I'm thinking of migrating to using GTC bearings for a new folder I'm working on. You guys that have experience with them, what are your thoughts? Any tips and tricks? What setup are you guys using for the counter-bore to maintain absolute flatness?

I've been using the micro roller bearing from USAknifemaker but that bearing assembly is quite large and really inhibits alot of design possibilities when trying to make a smaller sleeker more efficient design.

Ive chosen to use the GTC bearings on an upcoming project. Very happy with my choice so far. As you said, they are the smallest you can get so they're easiest to design around.
Haven't actually made a knife with them yet so I suppose I cant speak too highly of them.

I dont want to derail your thread but I want to ask if anyone knows...I have one bearing set into a Ti frame and one set into the blade. The blade bearing is in direct contact with a g10 scale, will it be noticeably quicker/smoother if that bearing is rolling on a liner instead?
