Ok ,I have a weekend trip planned to the Guadalupe River, I Rented a Cabin(Gilligan Island Cabins) on the River which is the half way point on the 6hour tube float, get out have lunch and finish the rest of the float....since it is kinda like car camping only blade I can think of taken is my SAK hiker & KOA Alpha wolf/RC4 or maybe my BK11 necker not really sure yet. Leaving Friday 7-11 and returning Sunday....But I will be off the following week as well doing honey do's and hoping to sneak off to go fishing :D....I am hoping to get a few pics,I gotta pick up a few disposables camera's:grumpy: and get a cd made...My Canon Sure shot Crapped out on me:mad: Take care Guys !

Good luck with your little float trip. I'd take all of the knives, but only the SAK during the float. Get yourself a plastic dry case for cell phone, wallet, and so foth.

Have fun TTD!

Enjoy it for me - I don't think I'll have much of a break until December for myself...:(

Certainly not more than a day (like today) but I'll pay for it Thursday and Friday...and probably Saturday.

Don't forget the sunscreen - don't want to get a bad burn.

Sound like a great trip Tony, bring back lots of pics and good luck with the fishing.

Tight lines bro:thumbup:

Hey Tony,

Bring an ultralight with some mepps/panther martins for the trout.... Yup... rainbow trout. Texas parks and wildlife have been releasing them into the Guadalupe for years now.

Tubing is a good time, but I haven't done it for years. I've found that renting a raft is much, much more fun. The river can run slow at times, and tubes can be miserable when the river is stagnant. Not to mention hitting your butt on rocks in the shallow areas. In a raft, you only get wet when you wanna get wet, and don't get that 'waterlogged' feeling after a few hours. ;) I usually take my Spydie endura, clipped inside my waistband. Hope you guys have a good time!

EDIT TO ADD: Don't forget to go to Gruene Hall, it's just down the road. Oldest dance hall in Texas. Lots of live music, and a unique cooling system throughout the building.... beer.

That's one of the prettiest areas in Texas Tony, as I'm sure you are aware. I've lived in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio at various times, so I am familiar with the state. Looking forward to whatever pics you are able to bring back.

Thanks guys,we did the Raft thing last year or the year before and the river was up and the river ride was quicker with a raft ,this year tubes with bottoms....live and learn,Yeah I am taking my fishing poles and tackle box,try to catch something....Sun screen a definite...after today I will be out of pocket for 10days....I wanted to get a cave to camp in but the other family that split the cabin with us dont do "roughing it "camping...Either way it is Family time and a Break from the Job & Etc....
