Tomorrow marks one year as a knifemaker member here at BF, so I wanted to make my last drop hunter for the season something special to mark the occasion. This is my first guardless hunter, and my first piece in stabilized Wenge. I also did a non-standard (compared to my others) sculpted handle on this one.

I put a lot of effort into this blade, and took the utmost care with every aspect of finishing. This is a collector grade piece. Fit & Finish is amongst the best I've done. I'm also very happy with how the handle profile came out, it is incredibly comfortable and I feel it works really well with the blade overall. This one still would make a terrific user though... 100% show, 100% go. 800 grit satin polish on blade, 2000 grit on handle.

Excellent balance and handling. Pinched bolster for comfort. Full distal taper w/full flat grind. I ran the HT a touch higher than normal w/cryo, so with XHP's ability to take a very fine edge, combined with the edge holding characteristics, this should exhibit superior performance.

Wenge is a very tough wood, and combined with stabilizing by K&G, this handle should be near bulletproof. The blade comes in at 5.5oz, which is feel is just about perfect for a piece like this. Heavy enough to feel substantial, but light enough to disappear on your hip.

CTS-XHP @ 61.5 w/cryo, .180" thick at ricasso
3.625" Edge length, 8.95" OAL
K&G stabilized African Wenge
416ss hardware, g10 liners
5.5oz

I will be including an upgraded tooled sheath with this piece. I will discuss the sheath options with buyer upon purchase. Sample sheaths are shown below. I've got a lot of time into this piece...

$290 shipped, price includes premium sheath. Paypal preferred.

Thanks TK. I'm a bit mad at myself for not doing a guardless until now. I really like them but just haven't been able to step up and actually make one.

Beautiful Ian. I really like the guardless look, and the handle looks very nice as well. The only thing I see wrong is that it is way underpriced!!
Someone is gonna be very happy!!

That is a sweet piece! I will take it! Send me your paypal Address.
Thanks,
Dave

Good looking knife. I think it would look better with a longer blade, but it's still really nice. Great job on those sheaths too.
