Guess I need to get a grip .....

I want to thank everybody for their help. I've filed it all away (except pitdog's ) for future reference.

What did I go with? Toothpaste. DJJ's post reminded me that toothpaste, because it's mildly abrasive, is used to polish plastic. So, I used it on the handle. I have to get out again, though, to really see how well it worked.

Hopefully, next weekend will be better weather and maybe more of the little green things will be poking their heads up. I plan on making this a big foraging year, so I am eager to get started. And, of course, the Bravo-1 will be along for the hike.

BTW, I'm planning on modifying a short Linders machete for use as a foraging tool. I'm going to cut off the point and make it flat (?) like a chisel edge for digging, and the edge will be good for cutting through roots, etc. Any opinions?

DOC,

Just use Camo Form

It is the same as self adhering medical tape. There is no adhesive so it only sticks to itself and won't gunk up those beautiful Ivory handles. Comes in a bunch of great patterns and colors, super grippy and best of all, it’s removable. Save your handles Doc, this stuff works great. You can also use the ol' skin colored medical stuff....you might already have some in your first aid kit ;)

Best,
Bravo
